The Middle Housing Accelerator Lab is a one-day working convening for leaders across government, finance, development, design, construction, and housing policy. Participants will bring real projects and real barriers into the room and work alongside the people who can help solve them.
FROM POLICY TO PRODUCTION
California has opened new pathways for ADU condominiums, starter homes, and other forms of neighborhood-scale housing. Passing policy is only the beginning. Homes get built when builders, lenders, local governments, and state leaders solve the implementation problems that stand between a new law and a finished project.
A WORKING LAB, NOT A TRADITIONAL CONFERENCE
Project Hot Seat: selected builders and developers bring stalled or difficult projects to a multidisciplinary group for real-time problem-solving.
Project Solution Sprints: small teams work through a specific implementation barrier and develop actionable recommendations.
Policy and Implementation Roundtables: focused conversations on ADU condominiums, starter homes, industrialized construction, financing, permitting, and other emerging implementation issues.
Site and Feasibility Workshops: hands-on examination of what makes neighborhood-scale projects feasible.
Structured Networking: intentional connections among builders, lenders, local officials, policymakers, and implementation experts.
Networking Reception: an opportunity to continue the day's conversations and build relationships across sectors.
