Marisabel Torres, Board Member

Casita Coalition board member Marisabel Torres is Vice President, California Region Director for Community Engagement with JPMorganChase. In this role, she leads the firm’s California community engagement strategy to build and sustain relationships with stakeholders to advance inclusive economic growth, and help the firm understand and respond to community needs. Prior to joining the firm, Marisabel was Director of California Policy at the Center for Responsible Lending, a research and policy nonprofit dedicated to protecting homeownership and family wealth by working to eliminate abusive financial practices. Before working at CRL, she was a senior policy analyst for the Wealth-Building Initiative at UnidosUS and focused on banking, homeownership, and retirement policies affecting Latino families, as well as immigrant access to financial services. She has authored or co-authored several publications on financial inclusion. Marisabel holds a bachelor’s degree in international affairs from the University of Maryland Washington. She has served as an expert witness on consumer finance issues before Congress and the California state legislature.
