Ruby Bolaria Shifrin, Board Member
Ruby Bolaria Shifrin is Terner Labs’ inaugural Chief Investment and Partnership Officer and Managing Director of the Joist Innovation Fund, bringing nearly 20 years of experience across housing investment, development, policy, and philanthropy.
Previously, she served as Vice President and Head of Community at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, overseeing a roughly $60 million annual portfolio and helping launch the Partnership for the Bay’s Future, which raised a $500 million housing investment fund. Prior to CZI she worked in real estate development at JLL and Lennar (later FivePoint) where she helped entitle 800 homes across San Francisco’s Candlestick and Shipyard redevelopment projects and managed underwriting, budgets, permitting, and development teams across a portfolio exceeding $500 million. She also led an in-situ upgrading pilot in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Ruby holds a BA from UC Santa Cruz and a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from UCLA.
